Nike Air Pressure

I was at a party yesterday where I saw a guy sporting these very rare Nike Air Pressure. Yes, it’s one of the ugliest shoes I’ve ever seen but there’s still something about them. They were far from a success and Nike Air Pressure only got produced for a year. I mean seriously… What was the Nike design team thinking when came up with these?! They were released in 1989 and came with an inflatable hand-pump device that was supposed to give the shoes a tighter fit for better stability and control. If you fill the shoes with air to the maximum limit you apparently will have trouble walking as they get so tight around the ankle. Very strange construction indeed…

An inflatable box. Back to the future or something…
