Nike was originally known as ”Blue Ribbon Sports” and its first line of shoes was released in 1972. Blue Ribbon Sports changed its name to Nike, deriving from the Greek goddess of victory, in 1978. The Nike Swoosh is one of the most well-known logos in the world and it was created by Carolyn Davidson, a graphic design student. Carolyn charged BRS $2 per hour for designing various ideas of logos and the total amount ended up being $35. Not that much for creating such a strong logo as the Swoosh is today… Phil Knight, co-founder of Nike, showed his gratitude in 1983 and gave her a gold Swoosh ring and a whole lot of Nike stocks. This is the history of Nike and today they are manufacturing some of the coolest and most popular Sneakers in the world. We at Sneaker Fashion will here give you a run down of our favorites.
